It's Daisy and her babies!
Daisy was rescued from the streets at the end of
August 2005. She had babies on Halloween.
There were six in all: Toffee, Garfield, Pepper, Peaches,
Abbey & Goldie. Sadly, Toffee came feet first and was
stillborn, and we lost Garfield due to illness around
six weeks old. Abbey, Goldie, Pepper & Peaches are
all growing and doing well!
It's Momma Daisy!
Daisy is a very good mommy kitty.
Our vet guessed her to be very young herself,
approximately 7 months old when she got pregnant. As it
turns out, she probably got pregnant the day we rescued her.
She had her babies 65 days after we rescued her.
We realized she was not just getting fat after a while,
and that she indeed was going to have kittens.
Then, of course, we spoiled her rotten and gave her
everything she wanted. She took complete advantage of us! :o)
Now she plays with her babies like she is one of
the kittens. Finally, she can enjoy herself now that
her babies are weaned!
Daisy is quite the talker, and will tell you what she wants.
She is a real sweetheart!!
It's Pepper!
Pepper is a rambunctious little girl.
She is quite the little monster! She is always on the go,
and plays harder than the rest. Pepper is the first one to
climb straight up your leg when you walk in the room.
She will also chew on your hand if you have no toys within
reach. Pepper will keep you on your toes as she zips all over
the room. Even when she had a terrible cold, she played and
played...nothing stopped her. She is a funny girl and very
playful! Pepper is also very beautiful and real sweet.
She will definately get all of the attention she wants!
It's Goldie!
Goldie is an active little ray of sunshine!
So far, he is the healthiest of the bunch. Goldie loves people,
and will litterally follow you all over the place. He loves
feet too! Goldie will be one of the first to crawl on your
lap and beg for your undivided attention. He is very playful
and always on the go. Goldie loves nothing more that to sit
on your lap and get as much attention as possible. Goldie is
quite a love-bug!!
It's Peaches!
Peaches is a very gentle young guy.
He has almost the exact markings of his mother. They
both have circular patterns on the sides of their tummy,
and of course, Peaches is the same color as Daisy.
Peaches was always a deep sleeper...and still is.
He can sleep through almost anything. I've had to pick
him up several times and pet him to arouse him just to
make sure he was okay! (I wish I could sleep that sound!)
Once awake though, Peaches is unstoppable. He plays and purrs
and has a ball. He is quite lovable and very sweet!
It's Abbey!
Abbey is an adorable little girl!
She has some of the most beautiful colors in
her fur that I have seen. She has circular markings on the
sides of her tummy, just like her momma. It is really cool
and can be seen in other photos of her in her personal
photo album. Abbey is like a slinky. When I come at her
with the medicine dropper, she attempts to slink away
from me! She much prefers to run and play. She is a real
cutie-pie and we love her lots!
Baby Garfield
Garfield was an adorable little golden boy.
He had a wonderful 6 weeks of life. He and his brothers
and sisters played endlessly and had so much fun.
Garfield was the most like his mother in the fact that
he would always eat the soft canned or packet food with her.
All of the other kittens preferred dry kitten food.
Sadly, all of the kittens got sick, but Garfield was the
sickest. He was rushed to the vets, where sadly he died a
few hours later. I was with him for the last hour of his
life, and talked to and comforted him till the end.
He already had an adoptive family that was waiting for him.
It was hard to break the news to them. They had named him
the day he was born. So many things I will remember about
this sweet kitten. He was gentle and playful and joy to love.
I will miss him forever. I know he's in Heaven now with Toffee.
I bet they are having the best of times!!
Baby Toffee
Sadly, the only life Toffee knew was the beautiful months
spent growing inside of Daisy with all the brothers and
sisters. You may think its wrong to post this picture, but
I never want to forget this beautiful face. I know Toffee
was very much alive up until the day he/she was born.
Everything about Toffee was perfect, except the fact of
a difficult birth. It was sad and tragic to lose this precious
gift. However, I know Toffee is in Heaven with Garfield now...
and very much happy and alive. I will never forget this baby.
